The Vision
The property was purchased in 1923 by our Great-Grandfather, Ioannis Xenakis, a merchant by profession, and has been in our family for 4 generations. It was the first Catholic residence to be sold to Orthodox and started getting shape as a continuous extension of the Catholic church to house the Archibishop of Paros and Naxos ( Paronaxias ). After, the ownership was transferred through his wife to our aunt Patricia – Voula , Vlachou – Xenakis, whom although had moved to Canada at an early age, was visiting every year the island of Naxos. With superhuman efforts and by her own resources she managed to maintain the property in a decent condition . After her death it was inherited by my father Ioannis Xenakis and together with his son, Andreas Xenakis we are trying to restore it and bring back its glory and magnitude. With your support and passion we will reinstate it so that it will reflect the beauty, the glamour and the magnificence of the bygone ages, passing on and sharing its history, the history of the island, the Greek culture and every beautiful and pure manifestation and expression of human activity.
We welcome you then to visit one of the first and most grotesque mansions of Naxos Town and reconstruct together the remains of the past and shape a promising future under the properties rich legacy!
